Pre-understanding: An interpretation-enhancer and horizon-expander in research

Pre-understanding – our presuppositions of reality underlies all research. Many researchers probably also draw productively on their pre-understanding in studies. However, very few rationales and methodological resources exist for how can enrich research by mobilizing more actively systematically. We elaborate propose a framework actively, systematically visibly bring forward use it as positive input research, alongside formal data theory. In particular, we show researchers, dialogue with theory, mobilize an interpretation-enhancer horizon-expander throughout the process, including stimulating imagination idea generation, broadening empirical base, evaluating what material theoretical ideas are interesting relevant to pursue.
